The Star of David
|
|
The "Star of David" is the symbol of the present day State of Israel; however, it was also a symbol known to ancient Israel. It is a six pointed star or two triangles joined together. The one is right side up. The other is upside down.
What does it mean? Why did Israel choose this symbol? How does it relate to the "Messiah"?

We know that GOD lives in a place called eternity (Isaiah 57:15). And we know that GOD the Father sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to this earth to save that which was lost (Matthew 18:11).
Jesus said, "You are from down, I am from up. You are of this world, I am not of this world", John 8:23. This response from Jesus is the answer to the question.

One triangle represents eternity. The place where GOD dwells. The other triangle represents this world. The place where we live. And if you will notice, one triangle is pointing toward heaven. The other is pointing toward earth.

Jesus who was conceived by the Holy Spirit is GOD manifest in the flesh. But Jesus is also a man. The "Star of David" is a representation of this concept.

Because Jesus is both GOD & man, Jesus has bridged the gap & joined the two universes together in him.

The "Star of David" represents the work that Jesus Christ did. He reconciled all things unto himself both in heaven and in the earth (Colossians 1:20).

"For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus", I Timothy 2:5.
